Naxi Language Studies is a representative work by Professor Yang Huandian, a linguistic master in Chinese and Naxi languages research. The thesis comes from reading and thinking the work and consists of eight researches, i.e. the linguistic predestined relationship of the writer, the native speaker, the analyses of Naxi Phonetics, the thought fragments on loanwords, the interpretations of Naxi Grammar, the linguistic relativism, the new theories in Naxi linguistics and the language loyalty. By means of perspectives of anthropology and translatology, the thesis discusses some interesting language problems, and then rethinks some social and cultural realities. The purport of thesis is to help the readers know Prof. Yang’s extraordinary painstaking efforts under notable achievements and share the essences in theories and praxes with experts.
