宣统《盐井乡土志》是清代西藏唯一的一部乡土志，也是盐井地区第一部地方志。此志不同于清代末期的一般乡土志，编纂者根据盐井地区实际情况设目，大量采用实地调查材料，使这部乡土志具有一般乡土志所没有的特点、特色。在汉文史志中，此志最早明确记载了西藏盐井么些人及其有关情况，具有十分重要的史料价值。
